The media could not be loaded. We recently removed several hedges in our front yard and replaced them with weed block, 1 1/2” salt & pepper landscape rock and some new planters. We were looking for a way to backlight the planters when we found these wonderful little color changing accent lights. Reading another persons review prior to installing they recommended placing the lights inside a 3” piece of black ABS piping to protect the lights along with giving them a way to support themselves. This is not necessary to do but makes them much more stable in my opinion and hopefully makes them last longer. I used my chop saw to cut down the ABS piping to whatever length I needed so that each of my seven lights I installed was level with the sidewalk. I also used the chop saw to cut a very small notch in the bottom so the wire would have a place to go out the bottom without causing them to tip. All in all these turned out perfectly. I bought two sets of four and we used three of them to backlight the planters and four more to go on each end and in between the planters. We are very happy with how they turned out and hope to get years and years of use out of them. I hooked these lights to a 30 watt transformer I already had and since these lights are only 3 watts each they are only drawing 21 watts of electricity. My transformer came with a dusk to dawn sensor so these lights come on each night and shut themselves off automatically in the morning. It looks real nice at night and kind of changes the vibe of the house. It’s kind of fun and whimsical and I look forward to changing them to different colors for the different holidays or just putting them on random and letting them change to their 16 built in colors randomly.
